What are my chances of getting into the College of General Studies at Boston University?listen to opera
Your GPA is not bad. Your SAT scores, however, are on the low side. Usually SAT II scores are considered acceptable for good colleges like Boston University if they are above at 600. But since there is one more chance to take SAT scores in January, you can try again. Or, you might want to try the ACT (instead of SAT I) which you might do a little better (I personally think the ACT is much easier). You have a great list of extracurricular activities, but admissions people want to see your committment in each, so in your application be sure to show your "passion" for these events. Your course load is great! It look challenging, so they'll be impressed. My suggestion is that if you work on your SAT (especially SAT II) scores a little, you can probably get in. Best of luck!

I'll be honest. Your chances are not great. Boston University is an school with a lot 20% acceptance rate. You have low test scores and low GPA really don't make up for it. You have a nice tough course selection and great extra curriculars, but I don't think it is enough.
If you want a percentage chance (like 58.4%) go to www.mychances.net and enter in your data. It's free, so it's worth a look.
Good luck.
The person above is wrong; BU has a 58% acceptance rate, and the College of General Studies is easier to get into than the other colleges.
I'd say you have a good chance. Your SAT scores are definitely on the low side, but your GPA's respectable, and your senior year curriculum and extracurriculars are strong. It seems as though you're really passionate about music; make sure you play that up on your app.
